Spring Brook Township 2015 Comprehensive Plan Final Draft
The Spring Brook Township Board of Supervisors intends to adopt a revised comprehensive plan. Pursuant to Section 302(a) of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Act 247 of 1968, as re-enacted and amended by Act 170 of 1988, Spring Brook Township will consider the comments of neighboring municipalities, Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties and the local school district. A PDF copy of the full text and maps (43 pages) associated with the plan are available for your review here (4.5 MB). A public hearing will be scheduled prior to final adoption of the plan.

Board Adopts Ordinance Requiring a License for Peddling and Solicitation
The Spring Brook Township Board of Supervisors has adopted an ordinance (#2013-5) providing for the licensing and regulation of soliciting and peddling within the Township. Individuals or companies that desire to engage in peddling or soliciting within Spring Brook Township are required to obtain a license. The Supervisors encourage residents to ask peddlers / solicitors to present their license. For additional information you may view the full ordinance text by clicking here. Spring Brook Township Begins Yard Waste Recycling Program for Residents
As a service to Spring Brook Township residents, the Board of Supervisors have started a yard waste recycling program. Residents may drop off items in a designated area at the Spring Brook Township Municipal Complex located at 966 State Route 307. Acceptable items include: grass clippings, leaves, brush, shrubs and garden residue. We will not accept: stumps of any kind, construction materials, pressure treated lumber, plastic bags or containers. Residents must register in the office when they deliver their items to the site. Township Hires Second Inspection Agency

Recyclables may be taken to the Covington Township Recycling Center on the first and third Saturday of each month between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM. New Tax Administration for 2012
Beginning in 2012, Berkheimer Tax Administrator will collect earned income taxes for residents of Spring Brook Township. They will collect taxes for monies earned during 2012. Jennifer Hrywnak will continue to collect the earned income taxes for 2011. Many residents have received residency certification forms from Berkheimer that need to be completed and submitted to your employer. The forms require you to provide your PSD (Political Subdivision Code). The PSD Code for Spring Brook Township is 350608.
